German Oyster unveiled an electric bike lift for RVs, Chinese startup SkyDream integrates lithium batteries and solar panels for up to 14 days off-grid, and California's Evotrex introduced a trailer with its own electric motor and energy generation.
Several significant innovations have emerged in the vanlife market, expanding the possibilities for autonomous travel.
Electric bike lift
German company Ten Haaft/Oyster introduced the TeckLift system — an electric bike carrier for RVs. The device with a linear motor lifts up to 60 kg to a height of 80 cm at a speed of 22 mm/s and connects to the 12 V onboard network. Prices start at €1,389 for an adapter for existing carriers.
Autonomous energy systems
Chinese startup SkyDream, founded in 2024, integrates lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 45–85 kWh and solar panels up to 2200 W into RVs and caravans. Up to 14 days of autonomous operation is claimed. The industry notes that lithium systems with 3000–5000 charge cycles are becoming the standard, replacing lead-acid batteries.
Evotrex PG5 power-generating trailer
California-based Evotrex presented the PG5 caravan with its own powertrain. The trailer is equipped with an electric motor that assists the towing vehicle, as well as an energy generation system from solar panels and a gas generator. The model CAN transfer energy to the vehicle to increase range. Production is planned to start by the end of 2026, with prices starting at $119,990.
