A travel trailer was stolen from a driveway near 39th Ave SW and Graham in West Seattle on Sunday, July 12, around 8:30 p.m. Despite a hitch lock, a white utility van with a red stripe backed in, and two men hooked up the trailer and drove off within minutes. The stolen trailer is a 2021 Braxton Creek Bushwhacker Plus, 16-foot teardrop, license plate 31966AG, with a decal reading 'Patsy Cline'.

Police responded to the 2200 block of East Platte Avenue just after 3 p.m. Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling east on Platte when the RV slowed to turn right into a parking lot; the rider could not stop in time and struck the back of the trailer, causing ejection. Bystanders provided aid until paramedics arrived, and the rider was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police confirmed the rider was wearing a helmet and that drugs, alcohol, and speed are not suspected factors.
