Wellington business nearly loses £100ks of vehicles in weekend raid

Residents of Irby reported that a 'building site' appeared overnight on a green belt plot on Townshend Avenue on August 27. A fence has been erected, and trucks and caravans have been seen. Local councillors and police are investigating potential unauthorized development. The 0.9-acre plot was listed for £90,000–£100,000, but the listing has been removed. Wirral Council said it lacks powers to evict as the land is privately owned and is monitoring the situation.

Residents of Fisherrow have objected to plans for campervan parking as part of the Musselburgh Active Toun (MAT) project, fearing it will attract more vehicles and worsen parking and anti-social behaviour. Firefighters spent the night at the scene of a grass fire near the village of Hopeman in Moray. Lossiemouth Community Council said there were believed to have been some power cuts as a result of the fire.
