Ricky Halford, 43, from Orpington (Kent), has pleaded guilty to stealing a motorhome and a series of driving offences after a police chase in Aveley. He failed to stop for police, rammed a patrol car and tried to drive onto a pedestrian walkway, but crashed into a barrier. Attempting to flee, Halford somersaulted off a footbridge, but was detained.
At Southend-on-Sea Magistrates' Court, he admitted theft of a vehicle, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to provide a specimen and driving without insurance. Essex Police released dashcam footage of the chase. Sentencing will take place at Basildon Crown Court from July 6.
