A 60-year-old couple in South Korea died from carbon monoxide poisoning during a winter car camping trip. The incident occurred on January 18 at a parking lot near Taebaeksan National Park in Taebaek, Gangwon Province.
According to one source, the cause was a liquid-fuel heater running inside the car with windows closed. Another source reports that a gasoline generator running in the tent was the source of the gas. This is the third such case in the country in the past month, prompting experts to again warn about the dangers of using fuel-burning devices in enclosed spaces.
