Drilling rig and caravan destroyed in Şanlıurfa fire

Garanti BBVA has introduced loans for purchasing motorhomes (motokaravan) and caravans (römork tipi karavan). For self-propelled motorhomes, the loan amount depends on the vehicle price: up to 400,000 TRY — up to 70% of the value, from 1.2 to 2 million TRY — up to 20%. Maximum terms range from 12 to 48 months. For towable caravans, a consumer loan of up to 500,000 TRY is available. Applications are accepted via mobile app and internet banking.

A drilling rig caught fire at the Ceylanpınar agricultural enterprise (TİGEM) in Şanlıurfa Province. The flames spread to a nearby caravan used by workers. Three workers were injured while trying to extinguish the fire and were taken to Ceylanpınar State Hospital. Both the drilling rig and the caravan were destroyed.

As part of the 2026 Şeyh Edebali Year events, Kınık Village in Pazaryeri district of Bilecik will host the second 'Let's Meet in Kınık' Camp Caravan Event from July 3 to 8. According to doctors, the 45-year-old mother sustained burns to about 70% of her body and lung damage, spent 16 days in a coma, and underwent around 20 surgeries. The father suffered 40% burns, and their children aged 7 and 9 had various burns; all have been discharged. The explosion is believed to have been caused by a gas leak when a lighter was ignited. Doctors warn that gas connections in caravans must be made by qualified professionals with a pressure regulator, and in case of burns, the affected area should be cooled under running water for 20–30 minutes.

Ortsan Outdoor, a Turkish manufacturer of folding shelters, has launched the Mini House — a 4-meter trailer that expands into a 20.4 sq m living space. Electric actuators lower the side walls, creating a bedroom and a terrace. The interior includes a full kitchen, bathroom, 470 W solar panels, a 200 Ah battery, and a wood stove. Price starts at €16,000 (excluding delivery), with O2 road certification. Production is made-to-order since 2023, sales currently limited to Turkey.
