Fire destroys travel trailer used as residence in Josephine County

Pennsylvania-based Freedom Campers has previewed a prototype cubic camping pod measuring 72 x 89 inches (183 x 226 cm) with integrated roof mounting panels. A two-person rooftop tent is mounted directly to these panels, creating a two-story layout for up to four or five campers. The pod can be carried in a truck bed or towed on a trailer. An official launch is planned soon through select dealerships. For reference, the non-cubic 72 x 89 module introduced earlier this year starts at US$4,540.

Jayco has expanded its Jay Feather Air SL travel trailer lineup with the 17RBSL floorplan. The model, nearly 22 feet long and 8 feet wide, is the largest in the series but accommodates couples or small families rather than maximizing sleeping capacity. It has a GVWR of 3,750 lbs, with 830 lbs of cargo capacity. The interior features a north-south bed, modular sofa, removable table, split kitchen with a rear refrigerator, and a full-width rear bathroom with shower and toilet but no sink. Amenities include a tankless water heater, LED lighting, 19,000 BTU heating, 13,500 BTU cooling, 30 gallons of fresh water, and a 10-foot awning. The new unit is priced around $22,000. Sales have started, but dealer availability and interior images remain limited.

Breaks Interstate Park is adding a new RV park with 43 sites just off Hwy 460. The project aims to boost tourism in the area.

Carbon Vans, based in Boulder, Colorado, has unveiled the Sequoia, a camper van built on a 2025 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD with a 144-inch wheelbase and a high roof. The vehicle is designed for four-season use and features Thinsulate insulation, air conditioning, hydronic heating, a 640Ah Dakota Lithium battery, 630 watts of solar panels, 125 liters of fresh water and a 42-liter gray tank. Sleeping capacity for up to four is provided by a fixed queen-size bed and a Super Pacific CloudCap rooftop tent. The van weighs approximately 3,447 kg with full tanks and is priced at $219,500.

Terex's Recreational Vehicles Segment will host its annual Dealer Open House from Monday, Sept. 28 to Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Renegade Customer Experience Center in Elkhart, Indiana. The event will bring together the company's dealer network and product managers; 18 units from Fleetwood RV, Holiday Rambler and American Coach will be on display, along with 12 units from Renegade RV. Gary Gunter, president of the Terex RV segment, will speak at the opening breakfast on Sept. 28 at 8 a.m.; happy hours are scheduled for Sept. 28 and 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Aliner announced it is bringing back the Alite, a hard-sided A-frame camper, after nearly a decade out of production. The 2027 Alite weighs 672 pounds, measures 11 feet in overall length, and has an 80-inch interior peak height, making it the lightest and most compact hard-sided camper in Aliner's lineup. It will make its consumer debut at America's Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with Beckley's RV. The model will be available through Aliner's dealer network this winter.
