Incident
A fire in a cabin at Sylvan Caravan Park on Sydney Road in Campbellfield, north Melbourne, killed a man. According to source 3, about 20 firefighters arrived at the scene around 4:30 a.m. and found the man's body; the fire was extinguished in about ten minutes. Source 4 says the alarm was raised at 4:30 a.m. on Friday and the man has not yet been formally identified.
Investigation
Detectives and arson and explosives investigators are handling the case, and a forensic examination zone has been set up. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Source 2 gives the date of the incident as 21 August 2026.
