Police have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of arson following a fire in Glastonbury on 13 June at Beckery New Road. The blaze destroyed three caravans and spread to a neighbouring building, including a Tesco supermarket, prompting an evacuation of the store. According to sources, about 10% of the Tesco's external cladding was damaged.
The suspects also face charges of attempted murder and assault on an emergency worker, according to one source. Both have been released on bail pending further investigation. No injuries were reported. There is a discrepancy in dates: one source says 13 June, another says 28 June.
