James Hinkley, 54, who was living in his motorhome, was stopped by police on January 30 on the A590 near Witherslack after swerving across lanes. A DrugWipe test detected benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product, at 62 ug/L. He was fined £120, disqualified from driving for three years, and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £48 victim surcharge. Hinkley pleaded guilty and had a prior conviction for a similar offense in January 2022.
