Mesquite Police Department and Animal Control rescued 77 dogs from an RV on May 15. The owner, Giustino Laudando, had been cited multiple times for violating city animal ordinances and was arrested twice for non-compliance. After being evicted from his home, he stayed on Bureau of Land Management land. Upon his return to Mesquite, officers found 77 dogs in the RV, many requiring extensive medical care. One dog gave birth to four puppies after the rescue. The animal shelter is under significant strain due to the high number of animals.
