German manufacturer Vario Mobil will present the Perfect 1200 QS Platinum at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6). The 12-meter, 26-ton motorhome, based on a Mercedes Actros 2553 LLL, features a 530 hp engine, four slide-outs expanding living space to 35 square meters, and a garage that can accommodate a Porsche 911 or Maserati MC20. Inside, there is a king-size bed, American walnut and slate trim, and a gas-free heating system.
On Saturday, August 23, a motorhome rolled down a slope at the Rheinaue parking lot on the B9 near Rheinzabern. According to the fire department, the occupants sustained only minor injuries. Firefighters secured the vehicle, removed two gas cylinders, and disconnected the batteries. The injured were taken to a hospital, and a specialized company was contracted to recover the motorhome.
MAN Truck & Bus presents the MAN TGE at Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf as a versatile platform for camping and motorhome concepts. At stand E59 in Hall 16, two MAN TGE models are on display, featuring new equipment options such as the KombiFree Package and Lion X Package from MAN Individual, along with a new Reimo pop-up roof that increases headroom.
The German magazine Spiegel questions whether camping has lost its connection to nature due to modern amenities. In Körba (Elbe-Elster), the holiday complex 'Goldpunkt' reports high demand: pitches are full, bungalows have been modernized. Operator Heiko Fieber notes that the stable water level in the pond attracts vacationers. An offer that was previously considered discontinued has been revived.
CityFreighter, Vöhringer and Motive Development have built the electric Evolve motorhome with over 400 km range and four berths. Debut at Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf.
