Actress Nina Dobrev appeared on the US morning show Live with Kelly and Mark to talk about her summer vacation on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. She spent nearly a week with her family, sleeping in a caravan owned by her father, parked directly on the sand. Dobrev highlighted the warm weather and crystal-clear water, calling the Bulgarian sea a 'well-kept secret'. This was her first visit to Bulgaria in about six years.

When choosing a car for towing a trailer or caravan, horsepower alone is not the decisive factor. Torque and its range are more important: a wide plateau from 1500 to 3500 rpm is preferable to a peak at 4000–5000 rpm. Diesel engines are generally more convenient, as they achieve good traction at 1300–1800 rpm, while naturally aspirated petrol engines often come alive closer to 2500–3500 rpm. For a trailer weighing about 1 ton and a car weighing about 2 tons, a torque of at least 300–350 Nm in a wide range is desirable. The transmission also matters: a classic automatic with a torque converter handles loads better than a CVT or a dual-clutch robot. It is recommended to use no more than 3/4 of the manufacturer's maximum trailer load capacity.

The 9th edition of the national rock festival Hotnish will take place on August 28–29, 2026, near the medieval Hotnish fortress in Sevlievo. Admission to all concerts is free. Organizers will offer free shuttle buses from the Sevlievo fairground to the festival zone and a free camping area for about 30 tents near the fortress. Parking at the fortress is limited to around 50 spaces, mainly for the festival crew and specialized vehicles.

Veselin Vulev, founder of camping.bg, stated that Bulgaria has over 200 locations for owners of campers, caravans, and tents, including designated camper stops. Fines for violating the ban on coastal camping will be enforced starting October 1, while inland areas have no general ban on wild camping except in natural and national parks.

On the evening of June 16, 2026, a conflict broke out on Butamyata beach in Sinemorets, Bulgaria, involving a Russian citizen. The man parked his luxury motorhome with Czech plates next to two Ukrainian vans, played loud music including the Russian anthem, and after a verbal altercation, threatened Ukrainians with a weapon and fired 3-4 shots. As the Ukrainians tried to leave, he smashed the windshield of one van with a stone. The attacker was detained by police, and additional weapons were found in his motorhome.

The administration of the Bulgarian municipality of Tsarevo issued an official position on the case of leasing municipal land for campers, caravans, and tents near Butamyata beach in Sinemorets. Authorities called opposition to camping sites illogical, stating they are the only eco-friendly alternative to coastal overdevelopment. The Burgas District Prosecutor's Office found violations in the transfer of 35 decares of land, including a lack of environmental approvals for Strandzha Nature Park, but the municipality insists the tender procedure was followed and notes that prior approval is the tenant's responsibility.
