Rapido V64/Dreamer D64: camper vans with queen bed

French Rapido Group will present a new camper van based on the Fiat Ducato with a queen bed at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon (August 28 – September 6). The 6.36 m vehicle is sold under the Rapido (V64) and Dreamer (D64 Select) brands. The layout places the kitchen behind the driver's seat and a two-seat bench by the sliding door. The bed measures 1.95×1.40 m and is accessible from both sides. Base price is €71,000; the fully equipped Dreamer Saphir version costs €79,000.

Rapido Optimum Line: special series for 10 motorhomes and campervans

Rapido has launched the Optimum Line limited edition for the 2027 model year, covering ten models: campervans, compact and classic semi-integrated, and fully integrated motorhomes. The series comes fully equipped: 150 Ah lithium battery, 150 W solar panel, 2000 W inverter, diesel heater, compressor fridge, 140 hp automatic transmission, 16-inch alloy wheels, electric parking brake, 9-inch multimedia station with rear-view camera. Prices range from €71,900 for the V55 to €93,900 for the 896F.

Rapido launches 65th anniversary limited-edition motorhomes

French manufacturer Rapido has unveiled a 65 Aniversario series of motorhomes to mark its 65th anniversary. The series includes two models on FIAT chassis: the C86i integral and the C86 low-profile. Both feature a 149-litre compressor fridge, TRUMA Combi heating, a 150 W solar panel and a 100 Ah lithium battery. The models are available at Valcaravan dealer in Valencia.

Updated Itineo Motorhomes 2027: Improved Equipment and Prices from €59,600

French brand Itineo (part of the Rapido Group) has unveiled a fully revamped motorhome lineup for 2027. Models feature a new front design, modern interiors with felt-look surfaces and hidden cabinet handles. To mark the brand's 20th anniversary, special '20 ans' editions are offered with extensive standard equipment, including a 140 hp engine with automatic transmission, Pioneer multimedia system, rearview camera, diesel heater, and solar panel. Prices for semi-integrated models start at €59,600, for fully integrated models at €80,300.

Lincolnshire motorhome theft victims waited two days for police response

Bryan and Luzaan Wright of Gosberton Risegate reported the theft of their Rapido 640 motorhome from their driveway at 5:57 a.m. on June 17, but police did not arrive until 12:30 p.m. on June 19. Thieves used an angle grinder to cut the gate lock and pushed the owners' Nissan Navara into a dyke to clear the path. Police attributed the delay to other ongoing incidents; inquiries are ongoing.

Queensize bed in a camper van: Rapido and Dreamer launch 2027 model

French manufacturer Rapido introduces the Dreamer D64 and Rapido V64 camper vans based on the 6.36 m Fiat Ducato, featuring a rear queensize bed (195×140 cm). To accommodate the bed, the layout is redesigned: the kitchen moves to the left side behind the driver‘s seat, and a two-person bench is placed by the sliding door. The van includes a spacious bathroom with a pivoting sink, a large compressor fridge, and a fold-out table. Prices have not been announced.

Giottiline launches compact motorhomes CX 64 and CX 69

Italian brand Giottiline, part of the Rapido Group, has introduced two new compact motorhome models: CX 64 and CX 69. Both are 2.15 m wide, 15–20 cm narrower than standard semi-integrated models. The 6.45 m CX 64 features a lounge with two longitudinal sofas, an electrically lowering bed (1.82 m), and a large rear bathroom. The 6.99 m CX 69 offers a queen-size bed, a combined bathroom, and a compact kitchen. Prices start at €58,700.

Westfalia Nansen: premium camper van based on Fiat Ducato

German manufacturer Westfalia, known for converting Volkswagen Combis since 1952, has unveiled the new Nansen model. The camper van is built on a Fiat Ducato chassis and will be produced in France, at the Niort plant (Rapido group). Two versions are available: the 600 L (5.99 m, family-oriented) and the 640 LS (6.46 m, for couples). Prices start at €70,500. Standard equipment includes a full bathroom, 95 L fresh water tank, and 90 L fridge. Options include additional batteries, an awning, and 160 W solar panels. Sales begin in January.

July issue of Le Monde du Camping-Car features summer events calendar

The July issue of Le Monde du Camping-Car (No. 383) is now on sale. It includes a calendar of 30 events across France, such as festivals and cultural gatherings, with details for motorhome travelers. The issue also offers a guide to the 10 cheapest camper vans (under €52,000), a supertest of the Rapido 8096 dF motorhome, and reviews of Bavaria, Challenger, and Mobilvetta models. French camper van Rapido V55 with three berths and 140 hp engine

Rapido has introduced the V55 camper van based on the Peugeot Boxer 2.2 with 140 hp. The model, measuring 5.99 m in length and 2.05 m in width, features three berths: a double bed (192x132 cm) and a single dinette bed (185x100 cm). It includes a compact kitchen with a sink, two-burner hob, and 149 L compressor fridge, plus a bathroom with the patented Modul'Space system combining shower and toilet. Pricing starts at €63,350.

Motorhome destroyed in blaze next to busy Burnham-On-Sea roundabout

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews tackled a Rapido motorhome blaze next to the Tesco roundabout on Love Lane on Bank Holiday Monday. The vehicle was completely destroyed; the family inside escaped without injury. Love Lane and the roundabout were temporarily closed, with police and passers-by diverting traffic. Two fire engines used water jets, a gas cylinder was removed due to explosion risk, and several trees were charred but the fire was contained.

French motorhome and caravan manufacturer Rapido celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2026. The company was founded in 1961 by Constant Rousseau, who started with folding caravans. The Rapido group now produces 25,000 units per year across 11 factories, owns 12 brands, and employs over 2,000 people in five countries. Revenue in 2025 reached €825 million.

Dreamer D55: a camper van with a motorhome-style wet room

Dreamer (Rapido Group) has detailed its flagship D55 camper van, built on a Peugeot Boxer chassis. The 5.99 m model features a combined toilet and shower room, a layout more common in motorhomes than in camper vans. The interior includes swivel cab seats, a kitchen with an extendable worktop, and a Modul'Space wardrobe accessible from both the bedroom and shower. Prices start at €56,560; a 20th-anniversary edition is available for €61,550.

Rapido updates lineup for 65th anniversary

French motorhome manufacturer Rapido, founded in 1961, announced the largest catalog renewal in its history for its 65th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Itineo brand. For the 2027 model year, over a third of the 70 models will be updated, featuring new designs and solar panel equipment. The group, the world's fourth-largest motorhome builder, produces 25,000 units annually with a turnover of €825 million.
