Nicolas Datas, mayor of Tournay (Hautes-Pyrénées), announced a study on the town's possible withdrawal from the Coteaux du Val d'Arros community of communes after about 150 caravans occupied the municipal stadium near a school overnight Sunday to Monday. Datas called it the last straw amid unequal subsidy distribution and competence allocation. Intercommunality president Cédric Abadia called the caravan incident a pretext and noted that Tournay delegates voted against competence harmonization in 2024, blocking reform.
