Unity Holidays has received planning approval from East Riding of Yorkshire Council for a £20 million redevelopment of Skirlington Coast Yorkshire holiday park. The project includes a new food and drinks pavilion, promenade, outdoor lido, and 92 new caravans, though the caravan application was deferred. The plan will close the 40-year-old Skirlington Market, which drew over 12,000 petition signatures in opposition. Council officers stated there were no valid planning reasons to refuse the proposals.
