On the Balearic and Canary Islands, more people are forced to live in motorhomes and caravans due to high rents and housing shortages. At the Son Hugo parking lot in Palma de Mallorca, around 150 caravans were parked at the end of March, housing workers and families. The housing crisis has begun to negatively impact the economy, as companies cannot fill vacancies due to a lack of affordable housing for employees.
