Eight US ski resorts allow overnight RV and camper parking

California startup Aboard RV has unveiled the T4, a 7.3-meter hybrid-electric travel trailer capable of seven days of off-grid operation. It features a 41 kWh battery and a 60 kW onboard generator, providing 200 kWh of total energy. Pricing starts at $80,000 (approximately €73,000).

Plumas County, California, officials are surveying parcels where people live in RVs after the 2021 Dixie Fire destroyed 362 homes. An emergency ordinance allowing long-term RV occupancy expired June 30, making it illegal again under county zoning and state health codes. As of July 7, 36 households were identified living in RVs. Officials say enforcement will be 'soft' and are helping residents find alternative housing.

U.S. company LIV has introduced the E-Leaf Offroad, its first all-electric thermoplastic travel trailer. The starting price is expected to be under $25,000. The trailer features a one-piece welded thermoplastic shell, a 300-amp-hour lithium battery, two 200-watt rooftop solar panels, and a 3,000-watt inverter. It sleeps up to four people and includes a kitchen, bathroom, and electric systems that replace gas appliances.

Emergency crews in southeastern Missouri conducted multiple water rescues Friday after heavy thunderstorms dumped up to 9 inches of rain, trapping campers in trees and prompting a request for state mutual aid. The National Weather Service issued a catastrophic flash flood emergency for parts of Iron and Reynolds counties. Several roads, including Missouri Route 21 and Highway K, were closed due to flooding up to 5 feet deep. The Lesterville R-IV School District opened its building as a temporary shelter.
