According to The Dyrt's 2026 Camping Report, 72.2% of U.S. campers traveled with spouses or partners in 2025, and 49.7% camped with dogs — the highest among all pet types. Other animals taken camping included cats (4.9%), parrots, guinea pigs, hamsters, horses, rabbits, and ducks. Additionally, 38% camped with friends, 29.7% with children, and 29.2% took at least one solo trip.
