Sales of traditional motorhomes are declining, while camper vans and other alternatives now account for over 20% of the market. Camper vans cost between €48,000 and €70,000, which is cheaper than new motorhomes priced above €75,000. Sales of motorhomes, camper vans, and caravans surged following the 2020 lockdowns. A caravan requires a separate towing vehicle and is less maneuverable, a motorhome can accommodate up to 7 people but is expensive and bulky, while a camper van is compact but limited in interior space. A standard category B driver's license is sufficient for operating most of these vehicles.
