Kelly Dowse, 68, was arrested after an incident Friday night at the Strawberry Creek encampment near Osoyoos. Police heard possible additional shots upon arrival; Dowse barricaded himself inside. After about ten minutes, he exited and was shot in the leg with a non-lethal round. A rifle, cartridges, and casings were found. No injuries were reported. Dowse faces a charge of careless use or storage of a firearm and remains in custody until his next court appearance.
