71-year-old Eugene Bridel has lived in a small folding trailer for eight years and travels across the United States. Since 2018, he has customised the vehicle for full-time living: about four metres long, with a bed, kitchen, toilet and cooling system. For power, he added four flexible solar panels with a total output of up to 400 watts, each weighing less than two kilograms. Since September 2019, he has visited and camped in 48 states and has been to 284 national parks. In winter, he usually stays in Quartzsite, Arizona, and also travels to Texas. Due to knee and back problems, he questions how long he can continue at the same pace.
