Mitsubishi Delica D:5 Active Camper Logos Edition unveiled at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026

Himeji City in Hyogo Prefecture has acquired five toilet trailers equipped with Western-style flush toilets. Three are women-only, and two are barrier-free with electric lifts allowing wheelchair users to enter multi-purpose toilets. In disasters, the trailers will be towed to evacuation sites inside and outside the city. During normal times, they will be stationed at Himeji Castle and the city hall main building, and used at city-sponsored events.

Japanese company Car Interior Takahashi from Nagano has introduced the Relax Wagon KAKUKAKU camper based on the Toyota Hiace. The interior is designed like a traditional apartment: a U-shaped dining area converts into a bed, and it includes air conditioning, a Webasto heater, a sink, and a refrigerator. The price has not been announced, and sales are planned only in Japan.

Japanese builder Nest Tools has launched the 'Lamita' camper van conversion based on the Toyota HiAce Super Long Wide High Roof. It features a partitioned bunk bed, a separate multi-room, and a central galley with a refrigerator and microwave. Price starts at 6,747,200 yen.

Towa Motors Sales launched the Klein 108 Ahre camper van based on the Suzuki Every. It includes a microwave, 15L fridge, 1500W inverter, and 105Ah auxiliary battery. Price starts at ¥3,102,000.

Monthly Jidōsha magazine showcased a custom camper van built on the Suzuki Every kei van. The exterior mimics the Suzuki Jimny off-roader with round headlights and a rugged grille. Inside: faux leather seats, perforated wall panels for gear storage, a pull-out table, and ceiling rod holders. A roof-top tent provides an additional sleeping area. The vehicle is aimed at fishing and camping enthusiasts.

The Minami Aso Field Hotel in Minamiaso Village, Kumamoto Prefecture, opened on May 30, 2026. It offers 34 units, including double-section caravans with private baths and dome tents. Guests have unlimited access to an on-site public bathhouse with a sauna featuring automatic steam injection. Rates start at 20,000 yen per person per night with two meals.
