Illegal caravan sleeper gets six weeks in prison

From September 30 to October 4, the Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs in Utrecht will feature an indoor camping area called 'Het Utrechtse Kampeerdorp'. Visitors can join cooking sessions, yoga classes, workshops, and even try an ice bath. The initiative aims to attract both seasoned campers and those curious about outdoor living. Other halls will display the latest motorhomes, caravans, folding trailers, and tents.

In the Grollooërveen nature reserve (Netherlands), a campervan got stuck on a wooden path for pedestrians and cyclists. The driver took a wrong turn, and the structure collapsed under the weight. The driver was fined; insurance will cover the damage.

The Christelijke Caravan Club (CCC) celebrates its 40th anniversary. Founded in 1986, the club brings together about 182 couples and single members from various Protestant denominations, from Old Reformed to Pentecostal churches. Members do not travel on Sundays and hold no activities that day, but organize church and singing services. The CCC organizes six multi-day trips annually in the Netherlands and abroad, plus spring and autumn camping weeks.

According to Roddelpraat, former Paleis voor een prikkie star Rogier Smit was seen on a public parking lot near VV Noordwijk football club, standing next to a caravan and talking to enforcement officers. Earlier rumors suggested he might be living in a camper, but now it appears to be a caravan. An anonymous tipster claims he lives there illegally without electricity or running water, though this has not been officially confirmed.

Turkish company Ortsan Outdoors has introduced the Mini House caravan, which measures 4 meters in length and 2.1 meters in width when folded, reducing aerodynamic drag. At the campsite, fabric side walls unfold, providing 20.4 square meters of floor space. The caravan includes a kitchen with a compressor refrigerator, a two-burner gas stove, a 200-liter water tank, and solar panels. The starting price is €16,700.

The organizers of Down The Rabbit Hole 2026 have released a full list of accommodation options. On-site facilities include a standard tent camping area, a dedicated campsite for motorhomes and caravans, and several glamping tiers. This year, new spaces have been added for compact motorhomes up to 4×6 meters.
