Motorhome Sales on the Rise

Sales of new motorhomes to private individuals in Norway increased by 13.8% in the first quarter. A total of 173 new motorhomes were registered, although the statistics may be distorted by 175 units registered by dealers in February to comply with new emission regulations.

Clever Motorhomes Premiere in Norway

The German motorhome brand Clever has been introduced in Norway for the first time at an exhibition in Vikingskipet. Distributor Viken Bobil AS displayed three compact models with lengths of 599 and 636 cm, built on Citroen chassis with a 180 hp engine, weighing up to 3500 kg, and priced just below 1.4 million Norwegian kroner.

A motorhome overfilled with diesel at a gas station in Nesttun, causing 49–50 liters of fuel to spill into a sewer drain. Firefighters are on site containing the spill and assessing the impact on Bergen's water supply.

Tougher Rules for Motorhomes in Spain

Spain's Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) has introduced new restrictions for motorhomes and caravans due to their increased numbers. Parking near beaches is prohibited, a 48-hour stay limit is enforced in some provinces, and vehicle technical inspections have been tightened. New road signs indicating waste disposal points have also been introduced.

A Dutch consumer organization has filed a lawsuit against Stellantis, alleging that thousands of motorhomes with Fiat Ducato diesel engines, produced between 2009 and 2019, may have been equipped with illegal software to manipulate emission data. The plaintiffs claim this means the vehicles may not comply with Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards. Stellantis strongly denies all allegations, stating its technology complied with all applicable regulations at the time.

At least seven former dealers have restarted operations, some utilizing a consignment scheme for motorhomes and caravans to reduce initial financing costs. Financial figures for 2025 show positive operating profits for the restarted companies, with Heistad Bil & Caravan AS reporting revenues of 119 million Norwegian kroner.
