Over 100 electric tow cars for caravans, but range remains a barrier for owners

According to ACSI research, the number of electric vehicles capable of towing a caravan has increased from 3 models in 2020 to over 100 currently. However, only 1.8% of caravan owners use an electric vehicle as a tow car due to a 50% or more reduction in range when towing. The Most Affordable EVs for Towing Caravans

According to an ACSI study, the number of EV models capable of towing a caravan has increased from 3 to over 100 in six years. Towing reduces the driving range by more than half. The list of the most affordable 2026 models includes the Zeekr X, Lynk & Co 02, Volvo EX30, and Smart #1, priced from €35,990 with a permissible trailer weight of 1,200 to 1,600 kg.
