On the Scottish Isle of Skye, locals are voicing discontent over the behavior of tourists traveling in motorhomes. According to BBC reports, visitors leave rubbish, feces, and toilet waste, and urinate in front of houses and on roadsides. The island, with a population of about 10,000, has only ten public toilets, which cannot cope with the influx. Under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, wild camping is permitted as long as no traces are left, but overnight parking of vehicles on roadsides is not allowed.
