Liu Peijin, a resident of Weifang in Shandong Province, China, converted a seven-seat car into a mobile home to take his wife, who lost mobility due to diabetes complications, on trips across the country. According to one source, the journeys began in 2014; another says they have lasted 12 years. The couple has visited 31 provinces and cities, including Xinjiang.
The vehicle has two beds: a longitudinal one for his wife and a transverse one for Liu, allowing him to care for her at night. He declined to buy a specialized wheelchair costing 24,000 dollars, believing it is beneficial for his wife to maintain residual activity.
In May 2024, a video of him feeding his wife at Sayram Lake in Xinjiang gained hundreds of thousands of views on social media.
