Eura Mobil has unveiled the Xtura 656 HB, a 4x4 motorhome based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 419 CDI. The vehicle measures 6.68 m long, 2.20 m wide and 3.21 m high, with a wheelbase of 3.66 m, a maximum permissible weight of 4,100 kg, a kerb weight of 3,360 kg and a payload of 435 kg. An electrically operated Vickywood roof tent provides a 1.98 × 1.30 m bed, accessible from inside via a telescopic ladder. The motorhome offers four sleeping places and four seatbelts. Standard equipment includes two 200 Ah lithium batteries, solar technology and a 3 kW inverter, enabling up to 30 days of electrical self-sufficiency. Water tanks hold 145 litres fresh and 105 litres waste. Prices start at 183,400 euros, higher than the longer Xtura 686 EF at 166,400 euros.

Auto motor und sport, together with Dr. O. K. Wack Chemie, tested eight cordless handheld vacuum cleaners under camping-like conditions: car carpets, dog hair, sand and crumbs. The Einhell TE-HV 18/06 won with 83 out of 100 points, followed by the Severin HV 7146 (82 points), which also took the best value award, and the Black & Decker BHHV 520 BF (78 points). Prices of the tested models range from 55 to 149 euros.

German manufacturer Frankia has added two integrated Liner models to its premium Noctra range for the 2027 model year. The Noctra Liner 7.6L measures 7.80 m, while the Noctra Liner 8.3L is built on a Mercedes chassis with a tandem rear axle and measures 8.45 m; both feature twin beds and a garage. Prices start at €157,900 for the 7.6L and €164,900 for the 8.3L with a 2.0-litre 150 hp engine and 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox.

Anna and Horst Viviani from Rhynern began motorhome travel in 2000, when Horst retired at 60. Over 27 years, they made six trips to the US and also traveled through Mexico, Morocco, and Canada. Their motorhome has covered over 300,000 kilometers. Now aged 86 and 83, the couple no longer undertakes long journeys but is considering short excursions.

Unlike the Netherlands, where municipalities often restrict motorhome and caravan parking to three days, Germany has different rules. Under the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), a legally parked motorhome has no maximum parking duration, but once a caravan is unhitched, it may remain in one spot for no more than two weeks. Violations incur a €20 fine, and vehicles over 7.5 tonnes and trailers over 2 tonnes face restrictions on regular parking in residential areas between 22:00 and 06:00 and on weekends, with a €30 fine. ADAC notes that to check whether a caravan has been moved, inspectors may record the position of tyre valves: if the valve remains in the same position, it indicates the caravan has not been moved.

On 26 September 2026 at around 11:15, officers of the Saale-Orla police inspected a motorhome in Crispendorf. The vehicle had two different license plates, one of which bore a forged registration sticker. Both plates had been issued for other vehicles, and the motorhome itself was not registered. The driver also did not hold a driving licence. Reports were filed for driving without a licence, as well as offences under the compulsory insurance act and the motor vehicle tax act. The driver was prohibited from continuing the journey.
