The Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD) criticises the long transition period, noting that national early adoption would create legal uncertainty when driving in other EU countries. A supplementary training of at least seven hours, including practical driving safety content, is under discussion.

The Abenteuer & Allrad 2026 show is taking place in Bad Kissingen, Germany. A video tour of Camp 1 features off-road vehicles, expedition trucks, converted camper vans and overlanding setups. The event is described as Europe's largest trade fair for off-road, overlanding and vanlife.
