Franconian Camper Days

From April 30 to May 3, the SeeCamping Langlau campsite on the Kleiner Brombachsee will host the first Franconian Camper Days (FCT). Around 50 exhibitors will showcase motorhomes, camper vans, and accessories. Parking spots have been fully booked for months. Admission is free.

Circus Busch with its 15-member team has been stuck in Gladbeck since March due to coronavirus lockdowns. The city now needs the site for its own events and demands the circus leave, but the circus lacks funds for relocation. A new site near Magdeburg has been found, but fuel costs around €6,000. The city has pledged an advance payment and grant assistance to enable departure by the weekend.

Police in Bochum are searching for the driver of a white camper van who fled the scene of an accident. The incident occurred on April 24 at around 1:00 PM on Klosterstraße. A 41-year-old woman discovered damage to her parked car about 30 minutes later. Witnesses reported a white camper van with a large compass symbol on its left side parked nearby; the driver was a woman around 40 with light hair and a red sweater. Authorities ask witnesses to call 0234 909-5206.

The Garmin Camper 795 MT-D EU is a specialized navigation system for motorhomes and caravans. It warns about low bridges, height and weight restrictions, and environmental zones. In testing, the device correctly identified height limits in nine out of ten cases but occasionally made errors, such as declaring a campsite access road a no-go zone. The system also draws significant power from the vehicle's electrical system.

The Kritz family, owners of rides at the Cannstatter Wasen, spends the festival season in a 15-metre caravan with 60 sq m of space. The home includes a bedroom, bathroom and office.
