Police use Taser to arrest man suspected of stealing motorhome

A man was tasered and arrested in Bridport, Dorset, after allegedly stealing a white Peugeot motorhome. Dorset Police located the vehicle on the A35 using intelligence-led systems; a stinger device was deployed to stop it. The driver attempted to flee on foot but was detained after a Taser challenge. He faces charges including aggravated TWOC. A passenger was also arrested, while a third suspect remains at large.

Port Carlisle holiday park gets approval for major redevelopment

Plans to redevelop Glendale Holiday Park in Port Carlisle have been approved by a Cumberland Council planning officer. The project involves demolishing existing sales, reception and leisure buildings and constructing a new central facilities building of about 910 square metres, including pools, gym, offices, sales area, plus a caravan showground and upgraded sewage treatment. Permission was granted subject to conditions, with the officer's report stating the modern functional design is appropriate for the site and will preserve local amenities and landscape.

Salaries, motorhome and SNP accounts: Nicola Sturgeon interview details

Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon told the BBC she was unaware of the £400,000 embezzled by her husband Peter Murrell over 12 years. Murrell used party funds to buy over 1,000 items, including a Niesmann & Bischoff Smove 7.4e motorhome for £124,550. Sturgeon said she did not notice the purchases due to their high salaries and lack of social life. The motorhome was seized by police in April 2023.

Mini trailer Dashaway ECT2: bed, kitchen and toilet in a foldable body

British company Wheelhome has introduced the foldable Dashaway ECT2 trailer, which transforms into a mini caravan in five minutes. Its curb weight starts at 370 kg, allowing towing with a passenger car under category B. Standard equipment includes an induction hob, microwave, 12-liter compressor fridge, portable toilet, lithium battery with a 3000 W inverter, and a 200 W solar panel. The sleeping area measures 196×127 cm and accommodates two people. The price in the UK starts at £19,750 (about €23,000); buyers in Germany will need to consider import and registration procedures.
