The Panama P09 motorhome, based on the Ford Tourneo Transit Custom, has been introduced in Spain. It is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Volkswagen California, with a starting price of €52,900 — up to €30,000 less than a comparable California. It features a diesel engine with 136 or 170 hp, and all-wheel drive is available.
The Parliament of Cantabria approved an initiative obliging the regional government to tighten control over overnight motorhome parking on public roads. The proposal was introduced by the Regionalist Party of Cantabria and supported by opposition groups, while the ruling People's Party voted against.
Francisco Ondarza, director of Caracol Camper, stated that the main problem for camper van users is the lack of clear regulations and designated parking and overnight areas. On the Canary Islands, conditions vary: La Gomera and El Hierro are welcoming, while Tenerife imposes restrictions. Ondarza noted that the rise in camper van popularity is linked to rising housing costs, with many using them as permanent residences.
Around 20 caravans are voluntarily leaving an illegal settlement in Sa Joveria, Ibiza, after police warned of fines for long-term parking and overnight stays. Many claim to pay rent of €400–500 per month. Cleanup is expected.
On May 18, 2026, at the Benimar convention in Tarragona, Catalonia, the company unveiled the Tessoro T443 Stormline 2027 model. This 6.99 m profile on a Ford Transit 2.0 L (130 hp) base features the Stormline package, including a Ford Raptor-style grille, black bumper, metallic grey cab paint, and blue mountain-inspired decals. The trim is only available with the Northautokapp and Plus packages, ensuring a high equipment level: 150 L compressor fridge, separate shower, modular storage, lighter furniture, improved AGM battery, standard solar panels, and an electric drop-down bed with 1.91 m headroom. The price of the Stormline version has not been announced.
On Ibiza, where the average rent reaches €29 per square meter, some residents are turning to alternative housing. Therapist Yamile Mora rented a motorhome for €550 a month, but it lacked a shower and phone charging facilities. She used a municipal pool for hygiene and cafes for charging. Authorities evicted about 200 people from the illegal settlement where she lived.
