From May 29 to 31, the Camper Expo 2026 festival for motorhome and caravan enthusiasts is taking place in Kolomna, Russia. Held for the 15th time and formerly known as Caravanex, the event features over 60 manufacturers and more than 100 vehicles, including motorhomes, caravans, and modular solutions. The highlight is the premiere of the first serial Russian camper van Verso, based on the Sollers SF5, with autonomous power, kitchen, shower, and sleeping space for five. A new specialized exhibition, 'Hitch Expo,' showcases towing equipment for motorcycles, ATVs, boats, and other active leisure gear.
At the Camper Expo in Kolomna, a motorhome on the Sollers SF5 chassis was presented. The living module made of Russian sandwich panels accommodates four people, sales are planned by the end of 2026.
A family with a child has been traveling in a Sunlight A70 motorhome for almost a year. They visited Samara, Crimea, Leningrad Oblast, Georgia, Turkey, and Northern Cyprus. Plans include Armenia and Krasnodar Krai. The motorhome saves on accommodation and food while maintaining comfort for the child.
The Xingyu Dongfeng Xiaokang 2026 motorhome has been introduced on the Russian market at a price of 3,509,000 rubles. This category B model accommodates six people, features a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 143 hp, manual transmission, and rear-wheel drive. It includes a 12V 400 Ah lithium-ion battery, 400 W solar panels, 100 liters of fresh water, a kitchen with an induction hob, and an external gas stove. The vehicle offers factory assembly and autonomy previously unavailable in this price range.
An entrepreneur from Irkutsk was fined 765,000 rubles for delaying the production of a custom motorhome. The customer was supposed to receive the camper by March 2024 but got it in late August 2024, a delay of 157 days. The court ordered 500,000 rubles in penalties, 10,000 rubles for moral damages, and 255,000 rubles for refusing to voluntarily meet the claim. The ruling was upheld on appeal.
In Moscow at VDNKh, as part of the Childhood and Youth Festival from May 30 to June 1, a themed motorhome is operating, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society's Youth Movement. Visitors can use VR technology to visit Lake Baikal, the Kola Peninsula, and Crimea, and participate in interactive sessions on geography, ethnography, and folk dances.
