The ministry stated that RVs are legally recognised vehicles that can be registered and licensed by the Road Transport Department. The government supports the RV industry as a niche segment with potential to contribute to the automotive value chain and domestic tourism, with local operators and foreign investors involved in manufacturing.

GWM (Great Wall Motors) launched the WEY G9, a plug-in hybrid MPV priced under 300,000 ringgit, targeting the segment dominated by Toyota Alphard and Vellfire.
