Italian builder Roller Team has introduced the Livingstone K2, a camper van based on the Fiat Ducato. It features swivel front seats, a double hob, 85L fridge, cassette toilet and shower. Prices start at ¥11.15 million (¥11.9519 million for the show model). The model targets buyers seeking an alternative to the Toyota Hiace amid its shortage.
Sassari police have issued dozens of fines to participants of the 'Cafona' summer. The latest fine of 1,500 euros was imposed on a group of Sardinians who parked an uninsured motorhome in the Porto Ferro pine forest and dumped trash there. The vehicle was confiscated.
In the Ahrntal valley, located in the Italian region of South Tyrol, the 'Såndgøld Alpine Glamping' has opened. The project was realized by architect Benedikt Wieser and designer Adrian Vogel. The site includes 50 camping pitches, eight wooden chalets on stilts, some with whirlpools, and floating tents on rafts. A central 'Greenhouse' building houses a bar, bistro, and fireplace lounge. Prices: pitch from €12 per person per night, floating tent from €50, chalet from €90.
The environmental association GrIG has filed a request for information and measures regarding the advertised opening of a new camper stopover area at Capo Pecora (Sardinia). The site is a Special Conservation Zone (ZSC) under the Natura 2000 network and a zone of integral conservation under the regional landscape plan, where stopovers are prohibited. The request was sent to the Ministries of Environment and Culture, the Sardinia Region, the Regional Environmental Impact Assessment Service, the Superintendence for Architecture and Landscape of Cagliari, and the Municipality of Arbus.
Area camper Pisogne secured a 20-year concession for a 3,000 sqm plot in Nistoi to build a 50-pitch camper van site. Environmentalists and residents held a flash mob against the project, citing flood risk and biodiversity loss.
On the evening of July 22, a scooter collided with a camper on Viale Europa in Ravenna. The teenage scooter rider was seriously injured, intubated, and airlifted to Bufalini Hospital in Cesena. Police are investigating.
