AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics has launched the ONDA Retrofitting Product Finder, an online configurator for motorhomes equipped with AL-KO VTE, CBE or Nordelettronica electrical systems. The tool identifies a retrofit kit that adds remote battery and tank monitoring, GPS tracking, lighting and temperature control without replacing the existing wiring. The system is modular: users can start with basic functions and add modules later. The configurator is now live on the official website.
Musician Jonas Holland, known as After Cooking, recorded a techno track using only industrial sounds from the Etrusco motorhome production plant in San Casciano, Tuscany. He captured noises from drills, sanders, and other machinery, assembling them into a rhythmic piece without synthetic sounds. The YouTube video received positive feedback, with some viewers calling it the best advertisement for the brand.
Italian publication Dronezine notes that many motorhome owners also use drones to film their travels. Since December 2019, liability insurance for drones has been mandatory in Italy, even for models under 250 grams, except for toys without cameras. Pilots must register on the D-flight portal and comply with UAS zone restrictions (no-fly zones near airports, prisons, crowded places). Drone insurance from Dronezine starts at €24.90 per year.
Park rangers and forestry officers evicted an illegally parked motorhome from the Molentargius wetland park in Quartu. The occupants had set up camp near the Via Don Giordi entrance, hanging laundry and placing tables and chairs. The violation was reported by park visitors. Similar incidents have occurred before, both in the park and along the coast, where motorhomes and tents occupy public spaces without authorisation.
Lago di Garda Camping, a network of 20 campsites and holiday villages around Lake Garda, positions outdoor holidays as a conscious choice combining deceleration, nature experience and sustainability. The network offers glamping tents, designer mobile homes and VIP pitches, and implements solar panels, water-saving technologies and waste separation. Some campsites, such as Fornella Camping & Wellness Family Resort and Camping Bergamini, have obtained sustainability certifications and awards, including the ADAC sustainability prize.
The municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo announced stricter measures against illegal camping after another incident of degradation caused by a van parked in the city. The council reports litter, sewage, and irregular parking, but also highlights the limitations of current regulations, which make it difficult to fine motorhomes when they are simply parked. In the coming days, checks will be intensified with the support of the provincial police, especially on the Dolomite passes.
