Four companies control the majority of RV brands in the North American market: REV Group, Forest River, Winnebago, and Thor Industries. REV Group owns Holiday Rambler, Fleetwood, American Coach, and Monaco Coach; Forest River, owned by Warren Buffett, includes Coachmen, Berkshire Luxury Coach, Dynamax, and East To West; Winnebago owns Grand Design and Newmar; Thor Industries owns Airstream, Dutchmen, Jayco, Tiffin, and CrossRoads. Consolidation may lower costs and simplify the supply chain, but can also lead to reduced quality control and cookie-cutter designs.
Terex's Recreational Vehicles Segment will host its annual Dealer Open House from Monday, Sept. 28 to Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Renegade Customer Experience Center in Elkhart, Indiana. The event will bring together the company's dealer network and product managers; 18 units from Fleetwood RV, Holiday Rambler and American Coach will be on display, along with 12 units from Renegade RV. Gary Gunter, president of the Terex RV segment, will speak at the opening breakfast on Sept. 28 at 8 a.m.; happy hours are scheduled for Sept. 28 and 29 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Fleetwood Ltd (ASX:FWD) announced the completion of the divestment of its RV Solutions segment. The transaction was finalized under the terms previously agreed upon by the parties. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The Chevrolet 454 big-block V8, introduced in 1970 in the Chevelle SS LS6, continued production for heavy-duty trucks and motorhomes until 2000, when it was replaced by the Vortec 8100. Unlike other large V8s that ended after 1973, the 454 adapted to emissions regulations, gaining fuel injection and a hydraulic roller camshaft. It was used in models like the Safari Trek, Fleetwood Bounder, and Winnebago Chieftain.
Fleetwood (ASX:FWD) has signed a binding agreement to sell its RV Solutions division, including the Camec business, to Aussie Traveller for $9.5 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis. The company expects to net $7.8 million in cash in FY27 while incurring $10 million to $12 million in restructuring costs. The divestment completes Fleetwood's exit from the recreational vehicle market to focus on core accommodation and building operations.

A Fleetwood Revolution motorhome, over 12 meters long, has been listed for sale in Sweden on Blocket for 1.5 million Swedish kronor. It features four electric slide-outs, a 400 hp Cummins ISL diesel engine, 6,900 miles on the odometer, 600W solar panels, a washer-dryer, two TVs, and a full kitchen.
Fleetwood Limited sells its RV Solutions (Camec) unit and closes its Smithfield plant, fully leaving the industry after 62 years.
Terex’s Recreational Vehicles segment introduced its model year 2027 lineup at a Dealer Summit in Indianapolis, featuring updates across American Coach, Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler and Renegade RV brands. The new Renegade Explorer TS, built on a Freightliner Cascadia 116 chassis with a second powered rear axle, includes a 12.5kW generator, 540Ah lithium battery system and factory-installed Starlink. MY27 models offer expanded lithium batteries, larger inverters and upgraded solar packages for extended off-grid capability.
Two classic RVs are compared: a 1975 Winnebago D19 Brave priced at $6,500 and a 1987 Fleetwood Bounder at $36,700. The Winnebago features a 318 V8 engine, three-speed automatic transmission, 59,000 miles, runs well, but generator and appliances untested. The Fleetwood Bounder on a Chevrolet chassis has a 454 V8, 36,700 miles, a separate bedroom with a new mattress, but a non-working refrigerator and minor water damage. Both require some repairs but offer distinct advantages in size and comfort.

Minister for Regional Development Stephen Dawson officially opened 18 single-person Fleetwood Australia units at Narrogin Caravan Park. The A$2 million investment is meant to ease the critical shortage of worker housing in the district, adding to six existing units. The project delivered about A$300,000 in local economic benefit and aims to support workers for upcoming renewable energy projects.
Fleetwood is reentering the Class C motorhome market after a hiatus with its updated 2026 Altitude and Insight models. The lineup includes diesel and gas versions, plus Super C models, featuring enlarged showers, reinforced doors, and an upgraded DX4 chassis system for improved stability. The company cites steady demand for the segment due to affordability and drivability compared to Class A motorhomes.
