Comtec launches in-car ozone generator for odor removal in campers

Nissan Pies Field Craft launched the Craft Camper Oasis, a camper van conversion based on the Nissan Caravan. It seats 5 and sleeps up to 4. The interior features two living modes: a rear-facing second row and a front dinette option. The bed height is adjustable in three steps, and the mattress length extends to 1800 mm. Prices start at 5,757,400 yen.

Mazda has introduced an official car-sleeping kit for the new CX-5, including a windshield sunshade, magnetic privacy screens, and a flame-retardant mattress. Japanese media tested the setup: with the rear seats folded, a 180 cm tall adult can lie flat without bending knees. The boot capacity increased to 466 liters. In its first month on sale in Japan, the CX-5 received over 10,000 orders.

Japanese retailer Don Quijote has released a portable vertical freezer-refrigerator under its 'Passion Price' brand. The unit allows temperature settings from -20 to +20 °C in 1-degree increments. It can be powered via a car cigarette lighter (12 V) or a household outlet (220 V). The body features 360-degree polyurethane foam insulation to maintain cold when unplugged. Two sizes are available: 12 and 18 liters.

On June 27, the largest camper van festival in the Hokuriku region began at the Ishikawa Industrial Exhibition Hall in Kanazawa. About 100 vehicles are on display, ranging from the latest models to used ones. Organizers highlight growing interest in camper vans as mobile offices for remote work and as emergency shelters. The event continues on June 28 and includes a support corner for the Noto region.

At the TOKYO OUTDOOR SHOW 2026 in Makuhari, Mazda showcased the new-generation CX-5 adapted for sleeping inside the car. The model features an extended wheelbase, panoramic roof, and special sleeping equipment.

At the Ishikawa Prefecture exhibition center, the Hokuriku Camper Van Festival has opened, featuring about 100 vehicles. Prices start from 2 million yen, and the event runs until June 28.
