In Sicily, motorhome trips to high-altitude areas, particularly Mount Etna, are popular. The route starts from the Mons Gibel Camping Park (Belpasso, 550 m) and leads to the Piano Provenzana parking lot (1810 m), covering about 58 km with an elevation gain of 1260 m. This is followed by a 4×4 ride (18 km round trip) and a 4–5 km hike with a 450–500 m elevation difference to about 3300 m. The excursion lasts 4–5 hours, difficulty moderate (E). Cost is 120–140 euros per person. Above 2800–2900 m, a volcanological guide is mandatory; access may be restricted during heightened activity.
