How to read the plate
A Seychelles plate is white on black: the letter S and up to five digits in one run (S6362). The island of registration is not shown on the plate; on Praslin a separate island sticker is sometimes seen. Plate size depends on the car — Japanese imports carry a 330 × 150 mm plate.
Region codes
Plates in this country do not show the region — you cannot tell it from the plate.
History
The S-plus-digits format is the classic Seychelles plate. A new variant of the form A0000 AA / 0000 appeared in 2018; the yellow HV insert on new plates is not drawn by the generator.
