How to read the plate
The Comorian plate is French in style, with light characters on black: digits, a letter and a two-digit number (1284 A 73). The sources found do not explain the last number; it may be an island code, but every known example shows 73. The rear plate has two lines with the crescent, four stars and the word COMORES.
Region codes
Plates in this country do not show the region — you cannot tell it from the plate.
History
The sources do not say when the current format was introduced, and no information on earlier Comorian numbering systems could be found.
