ORC Outdoors, founded in late 2023, sells the Murcator X camper, manufactured in China and sold in the US and New Zealand. The model features a pop-top roof, galvanized chassis, independent suspension, 300W solar panels, and a 100Ah lithium battery. The retail price for a new Murcator X is around $29,000.
American motorhome manufacturer Winnebago has unveiled a new off-road model, the Arka. The motorhome can operate for two weeks without external power sources.
Andrew Ventura, a 4-year-old from Sarasota, Florida, received a camper from Make-A-Wish Southern Florida during a visit to Camping World in Pinellas Park. Andrew, who has leukemia, wished for a camper after watching the cartoon Peppa Pig, which helped him pass time during cancer treatment. The organization said Andrew has spent much of his life indoors due to his illness and the COVID-19 pandemic, and the camper will allow his family to make outdoor memories together.
A fire Sunday night in Pike Township north of Virginia destroyed two trailer homes and a fifth wheel camper, according to the Friends of the Northland FireWire. The blaze was reported around 7:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of Northfield Road. Multiple fire departments responded, including Pike-Sandy-Britt, Embarrass, Vermilion Lake, and Mountain Iron, with the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department also on scene. The cause is under investigation.
Residents of the Buena Vista mobile home park in Palo Alto are temporarily relocating for a major utility upgrade. About 90% will stay within 4 miles, and the move may take up to eight months. The project is funded by a $24.5 million state grant that must be spent by June 30, 2027.
Oregon-based Motsmann Engineering has unveiled the Outranger, a fiberglass camper trailer with a body assembled from six composite panels and a bolted modular frame. Weighing under 1,500 pounds, it can be towed by compact pickups like the Ford Maverick. The camper is available in 216 RAL colors, including custom shades. Standard equipment includes a 200 Ah lithium battery, with options for solar, an inverter, and air conditioning.
