US boutique camping company AutoCamp has announced a capital increase via crowdfunding. The business is booming during the summer season, and guests are being offered the opportunity to become shareholders.
Three women traveled across California in a rented camper van for eight days, visiting Yosemite, Sequoia, and Death Valley. The total cost was $1,134 per person, covering rental, gas, groceries, and campsites. Gas was the biggest expense at $211 per person, with prices around $7 per gallon. Wasco County commissioners postponed a decision on redeveloping Oak Ranch RV Park while requesting additional financial analysis for the proposed $1.88 million project west of The Dalles. The project would create 48 full-hookup RV sites, tent sites, an ADA-accessible restroom and shower facility, and dark-sky-friendly lighting. A $1 million grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department requires an $884,900 local match. Annual campsite revenue is estimated at $190,000 based on 40% occupancy and an average nightly rate of $55.
Fibrosan, a global manufacturer of fiberglass reinforced plastic laminates, announced the official groundbreaking of its new facility in Cassopolis, Michigan. The plant is expected to become operational in March 2027, creating 35 new jobs in Phase 1. A planned Phase 2 expansion will likely triple production capacity, strengthening the company's ability to serve growing customer demand in North America.
