A motorhome collided with a semi-trailer truck on the A23 near Müllheim (Thurgau). The camper overturned; the driver and passenger were hospitalized. Damage estimated at several hundred thousand francs.
On the evening of June 18 in Hasle (Lucerne), a van towing a caravan caught fire. The caravan was detached before the flames could spread, remaining undamaged. The van was completely burned out; no injuries were reported. The fire was caused by a technical defect.
On the A3 near Filzbach (canton of Glarus), a 64-year-old female driver crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a motorhome. No injuries were reported; police confiscated her license and ordered blood and urine tests.
In a referendum, 53% of Winterthur residents voted against renovating the Schützenweiher campsite. The city council sees no legal path to allow permanent camping there.
