Changes are underway at the Erwin Hymer Group. After Bürstner announced it would cease caravan production in 2027, Dethleffs now also faces cuts. The company, considered the inventor of the caravan, is not exiting the trailer segment entirely but is discontinuing the Camper, Nomad, and Beduin Scandinavia lines. Dethleffs plans to return to the market in the 2028 model year with completely revamped models, a surprise given the comprehensive update of all three series in 2025.
Weinsberg has unveiled the updated CaraBus Edition Fire for the 2027 model year. Key changes include a one-piece sandwich roof panel for improved thermal and noise insulation, making the camper suitable for winter travel. The previous compact wet bathroom is replaced by a swivel shower, and the interior features wooden profiles, extendable seats, and a new kitchen countertop. The model retains the Fiat Ducato base and is available in seven floor plans starting at €59,490.
DJI has temporarily reduced prices on its portable power stations Power 1000 Mini, Power 1000 V2, and Power 2000. The discount applies with promo code POWERCOUPON5 at the official DJI store. All models use LiFePO4 batteries, retaining 80% capacity after 4000 cycles, and feature UPS functionality. The Power 1000 Mini (1008 Wh, 800 W, 11.5 kg) targets campers and mobile users. The Power 1000 V2 (1024 Wh, 2600 W, 14.2 kg) can run high-power appliances. The flagship Power 2000 (2048 Wh, 3000 W, 22 kg) expands to 22,528 Wh for off-grid homes or motorhomes. Third-party retailers offer lower prices: Power 1000 Mini at €402.51, Power 1000 V2 at €370.94, Power 2000 at €713.43.
Dethleffs, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, has announced the discontinuation of its Camper, Nomad, and Beduin Scandinavia caravan ranges. Production will halt until 2028, when the company plans to launch completely redesigned models. The decision comes amid a decline in caravan sales: in April 2026, the market fell 18% year-on-year. Another factor is the growing number of electric vehicles, which are less suitable for towing trailers.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched the Good Night package for the electric ID. Buzz van, converting it into a micro-camper. The package includes a double bed (2x1.2 m), window blinds, a table and chairs, and the Overnight software mode that maintains climate control for up to 48 hours. The Vehicle-to-Load system powers devices up to 2000 W. The package is available for order in Germany at around €2,600.
According to data from the ADAC camping portal Pincamp, bookings for campsites in Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) for July-August 2026 increased by 15% compared to 2025, and by 68% since 2023. The Netherlands saw a 22% increase over 2025. Meanwhile, bookings in traditionally popular Southern European countries (France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Portugal) fell by 2%.
