A Reddit user in the 'Luftablassen' forum criticized motorhome drivers, calling them 'Tupperware boxes on wheels'. They claim motorhomes slow traffic on country roads, block lanes on highways, and occupy scarce parking spaces in cities, including Baltic Sea resorts. According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, over one million motorhomes were registered in Germany as of April 2025, more than double the 2017 figure. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, there were 212 campsites and motorhome parks with 27,000 spaces in August 2025, and camping overnight stays reached 5.39 million.
