German manufacturer Bürstner (Hymer Group) will completely stop caravan production from the 2027 season, focusing on motorhomes and campervans under the 'Bürstner Reloaded' strategy. Service and spare parts for existing caravans will continue.

On Saturday evening, a folding caravan on Bjirkewei in Twijzelerheide was completely destroyed by fire. The fire was reported around 11:10 PM, and the fire brigade from De Westereen responded with a tanker pumper. Upon arrival, the caravan was fully ablaze; firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing further spread. The caravan, loaded with car tires, was deliberately set on fire and is considered a total loss.

On Friday afternoon in Zonnemaire, a caravan battery exploded. The fire department secured the scene after a call at 15:35. The battery was disconnected, removed, and safely packaged for disposal. No injuries were reported.

A campervan overturned on the A2 motorway in the Netherlands near Maastricht. Traffic towards Belgium was blocked, with a queue of up to 15 km and 40 minutes delay. No injuries reported.

A fire in a row of conifers at Camping Alkenhaer on Tuesday afternoon caused damage to a static caravan. Camping staff acted quickly and extinguished the flames with fire extinguishers before the fire brigade arrived. Despite the rapid response, the caravan was heavily damaged. The cause of the fire is unknown.
