On April 24, Hachioji City signed an agreement with two private companies to utilize Phase Free-certified disaster-response motorhomes and promote the Phase Free concept through public-private collaboration. Phase Free is a concept that allows everyday products and services to be used during disasters. The agreement was made with Bellnet (motorhome rental) and Nippon Tokushu Body (motorhome manufacturing). During normal times, the motorhomes will be rented out, and in the event of a disaster, the city will have priority access. This is the first public-private agreement in Japan combining the use of certified motorhomes with Phase Free promotion.
