Firefighter injured, metal barn total loss after camper fire in Kane County

In Montrose, Colorado, an RV owner mistakenly connected their waste hose to an underground diesel storage tank at a Maverik gas station, mistaking it for a dump station. The incident occurred on Memorial Day Monday. The station shut down its diesel pumps and will need to pump out and clean the tank. This is not the first such mishap: in 2020, an RV driver in Canada dumped waste into a regular gasoline tank.

The Coachella Lakes RV Resort in Indio, Southern California, was ranked 6th in the US by camping app The Dirt. Located in the desert, it features a pool, spa, kayaks, paddleboards, pickleball courts, a wine bar, game room, food trucks, and a dog area. It is near Joshua Tree National Park and a 30-minute drive from Palm Springs. The resort has 351 RV sites, with rates starting at $52 per night.

On Wednesday afternoon, during a welfare check at Rockwood Marina and RV Resort in Tennessee, a woman in her mid-to-upper 40s, reportedly a traveling nurse from Scott County, was found deceased inside an RV. Authorities believe the death was likely due to natural causes; her body has been sent to the Knoxville Forensic Center for an autopsy. The woman's name is withheld pending notification of next of kin.

In early May, the bodies of Anissa Osborne, 56, and Christopher Osborne, 51, were discovered with gunshot wounds at the Ocean Pond Campground in Osceola National Forest, Florida. Police responded to a welfare check and suspect Christopher shot his wife before killing himself, based on preliminary evidence. The couple, married for 15 years, lived and worked at the campsite in their RV. The investigation is ongoing.

A 1968 Chevrolet C20 CST Custom Camper pickup truck paired with a 1966 Del Rey Sky Lounge tri-level camper is being auctioned. The truck features a 396 V8 engine rated at 220 bhp and a 3-speed automatic transmission. The camper includes a sleeping area, kitchenette, toilet, and shower. The odometer shows 97,000 miles.

The Columbus County (N.C.) Board of Adjustment denied a special use permit for an RV campground on May 19, stating the applicant's site plan did not meet county requirements. Applicant Pedro Tapia plans to revise and resubmit the proposal. The proposed 37-site campground with a pool and splash pad was expected to open next year.
